Houston Chronicle – Nashville hot chicken food truck brand expands into Katy

Clutch City Cluckers, a food truck brand specializing in spicy and Nashville hot chicken, will has opened its third Houston area location at 1005 Katy Ford Bend Road in Katy.

The food truck, which has gained a cult following in Houston since it opened in February 2021, will celebrate its grand opening in Katy on May 20 with 50 percent off orders beginning at 10 a.m. The first 25 in line today will receive a free meal. The grand opening weekend continues May 21 with a raffle for a PS5; the winner will be drawn on May 23.

Clutch City Cluckers has locations at 5550 Val Verde and 9598 South Main at Texas Medical Center. The new Katy location is the brand’s third truck in Houston and fourth location in Texas (including one in San Antonio). The menu includes hot chicken sandwiches, hot tenders and fries baskets, loaded fries, tenders salad, chicken tacos, and meatless sandwiches made with cauliflower tenders.

Clutch City Cluckers was founded by Ahmad Kilani, a native of Irbid, Jordan, who immigrated to the U.S. in 2015; he worked at Abu Omar Halal, the halal food truck, and as an investor he now co-owns six hala trucks in Texas and Louisiana. He plans on taking Clutch City nationwide.
