Ahmad Kilane left Irbid, Jordan for Houston with a Master's to finish and a hunger to feed people the right way. What he built instead was Clutch City Cluckers — halal hot chicken that hits hard and doesn't cut corners.
Meet Ahmad Kilane
Ahmad Kilane immigrated from Irbid, Jordan to Houston in 2015 to pursue a Master's degree. While studying full-time, he worked at Abu Omar Halal Houston's first halal food truck and eventually invested in and co-owned six locations.
The Mission
In February 2021, Ahmad launched Clutch City Cluckers with a simple but powerful mission: bring authentic Nashville hot chicken to everyone, prepared 100% halal with the freshest ingredients. The brand name honors Houston's "Clutch City" nickname from the Rockets' legendary 1994-95 NBA championship run.
The Vision
The logo—a chicken on a rocket—pays homage to Space City and Ahmad's vision for the brand to "skyrocket." From one food truck to 12+ locations across Texas, Louisiana, Florida, and Amman, Jordan, that vision is coming true.
Press Took Notice
KHOU 11, Eater Houston, the Houston Chronicle, CultureMap, and QSR Magazine all caught on fast — then the San Antonio Current named Clutch City Cluckers Best Food Truck in their Readers' Choice awards. One truck had turned into a story worth telling.
12+ Locations and Still Going
From that one Houston food truck, CCC has grown to 12+ locations across Texas, Louisiana, Florida, and Amman, Jordan — every one of them still hand-breading the same recipe from day one. The city showed up, so Ahmad showed up back.
